        Description:

        LEAD COMMISSIONING ENGINEER
        American Electrical Testing Co., Inc. has an Immediate openings for Lead Commissioning Engineers with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

        Responsibilities Include:

        • Experience with the control wiring for the protection & control of substations.
        • Coordinate Relay Techs, Substation Techs, and Wiremen
        • Create test & cutover procedures for Relay Techs, Substation Techs, and Wiremen to follow.

        Requirements:

        • Experience as a Lead Commissioning Engineer, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning high voltage protective relays for electrical substations.
        • Experience with the following equipment: transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, CCVT, carrier and protective relay systems.

        American Electrical Testing Co., Inc. has immediate openings for Senior Relay Technicians with a minimum of 5 years experience.

        Requirements:

        • Candidates must be self-starters with good working knowledge of electromechanical equipment and relay logic.
        • Extensive Transmission and Distribution experience.
        • Knowledge and experience with Micro-Processor and Electro-Mechanical Relay's.
        • Experience with Power Line Carrier Equipment.

        Description:

        TRANSMISSION PROTECTION AND CONTROL ENGINEERS

        American Electrical Testing Co., Inc. has immediate openings in Connecticut and Massachusetts for Transmission Protection and Control Engineers with a minimum of 4 years experience.

        Responsibilities Include:

        • Carry out assignments involving all aspects of the application, design, and documentation of transmission protection
        and control systems for all facilities.
        • Assist the Principle Engineer in completing or reviewing the detailed design of new and modified systems, the calculation of related relay settings,
        associated fault studies, development and maintenance of electrical system data, and teleprotection channel applications.
        • Typical assignments include the application of numerical protective systems and devices, and substation SCADA and integration equipment.
        • Assist with procurement of protection-related equipment as necessary to support these projects.

        Requirements:

        • Power Engineering Background
        • Familiarity with digital protection, control, and communication concepts, and possess an aptitude for detailed engineering.
        • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.

        Experience/background including several of the following:

        1) Significant experience with Transmission Protection at 345 and /or 115 kv.
        2) Thorough understanding of symmetrical components.
        3) Familiarity with instrument transformer specifications and applications.
        4) Familiarity with Bulk Power System Protection Criteria.
        5) Use of fault study software (Prefer ASPEN Oneliner).
        6) Applying, specifying and setting numerical relays (Prefer SEL and GE-UR).
        7) Directional overcurrent and step distance protection coordination studies.
        8) Development of detailed drawing packages, including One-Line Metering & Relaying Diagrams, AC Three-Line Diagrams, DC Schematics,

        Panel Arrangements, Etc.
        9) Communications assisted protection schemes, and associated teleprotection equipment.
        10) Understanding of SCADA and Substation integration concepts.

        HIGH VOLTAGE INSPECTORS
        American Electrical Testing Co., Inc. has immediate openings for High Voltage Substation Inspectors.

        Requirements:

        • Minimum of 2 years substation experience.
        • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
        • Detail orientated.
        • Basic computer skills.
        • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
        • Travel to various regional locations.

        Description:
        American Electrical Testing Co., Inc. has an Immediate need for 2 Commissioning Engineers in the Northeast with 5 to 20 years of experience.
         
        Responsibilities Include:
         
        • Experience with the control wiring for the protection & control of substations.
        • Supervise Relay Techs, Substation Techs, and Wiremen
        • Create test & cutover procedures for Supervise Relay Techs, Substation Techs, and Wiremen to follow.
        • Travel throughout the Northeast region depending on needs of the company and work load.
         
        Requirements:
         
        • BSEE Degree
        • Experience testing, troubleshooting and commissioning high voltage protective relays for electrical substations.
        • 5 to 20 years experience
        • Experience with the following equipment: transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, CCVT, carrier and protective relay systems.
